Research Interests
Study of the catecholamine transmission in rat and mouse brain through the “in vivo” assessment of dopamine and norepinephrine by the microdialysis method focusing on the effect of drugs of abuse, antidepressants and antipsychotics. Study of the catecholamine transmission in animal models of Attention Deficit with Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and animal models of depression. Study of the effect of prenatal stress on the catecholamine transmission in adolescent and adult offspring.
Biographical Information
Ezio Carboni was born in 1955. He has received his degree in Pharmacy and the Ph.D. in Toxicology from the University of Cagliari. He has been post-doc and/or researcher at the NIMH, at the University of Georgetown in Washington D.C. and at the University of California in Irvine. He has taught Toxicology and Pharmacology from 1995 to date in the school of Pharmacy of the University of Cagliari.
